Cookies on our website
The text below explains the cookies we use and why.
Our Site is built using WordPress and WordPress uses cookies that are necessary for the functioning of the Site; for example:
- If you have an account and you log in to our Site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices (e.g. wordpress_logged_in_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash]). Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
- Cookies do not contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.
Our Site uses WooCommerce a WordPress e-commerce plugin to power our online shop. To keep track of cart data, WooCommerce makes use of 3 cookies:
- woocommerce_cart_hash
- woocommerce_items_in_cart
- wp_woocommerce_session_
The first two cookies contain information about the cart as a whole and helps WooCommerce know when the cart data changes. The final cookie (wp_woocommerce_session_) contains a unique code for each customer so that it knows where to find the cart data in the database for each customer. No personal information is stored within these cookies.
Our payment gateway, Stripe, uses cookies (e.g. __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) to distinguish who you are and to allow us to process payments without storing any credit card information on our servers. If a purchase is made on our Site, these cookies are used to aid in fraud detection. For more context, this cookie data helps their fraud systems recognize the patterns of fraudulent actors and stops them prior to making a purchase in order to help protect your business. This is essential to provide a safe and secure service.
Our Site is multi-lingual using the Polylang plugin for WordPress. This plugin uses cookie pll_language to remember your language preference. Its default lifespan is 1 year.
